About Me

“Hi, I’m Daniel. I’m a psychotherapist.”

Simple enough, right? Well, not quite.

In many ways, my life has been an ongoing war—a series of battles, if you will. From being a toddler crying and vomiting if my parents didn’t go “this way” (pointing down the wrong street to get home), to dropping out of college to become Chris Cornell—most, if not all, have been my own doing. My desire to find myself, to discover my place in the world and what I’m supposed to do, led to decades of learning. Learning about who I am and what my purpose is.

Therapy was a transformative experience for me. I found the strength to reconcile my cultural confusion as an immigrant and my purpose in life. Decades of inner conflict, confusion, anger, and anguish had cleared and left peace. My sincere hope is to help others have access to the resources I discovered in therapy so that they, too, can discover themselves and take authorship of their lives.

So, messiah complex out the way, what’s this all about?

Apparently, I’m best described as a mix of Steven Seagal, Professor Snape, and my Dad. [I’m still trying to figure out what this means, too]. I’m working on a bunch of projects that I find fascinating, including research on emotions, consciousness, and multicultural experiences. While I don’t get to post here as much as I’d like, keep an eye out for more info and posts in future!

I love connecting with people, and if you’d like to reach out, send over an email at info@daniel-elias.ca.
